Starting over

Yup... that's us. starting over. Last night Christian and I were discussing his history reading for the day and I decided to ask him some questions from a few chapters back. He couldn't answer any of them. After a few he said "I think I need to re-do my history reading." So that is what we are doing.

I decided that instead of in addition to discussing the questions verbally, I am going to type them out and have him answer them on paper, too. That way he will have a "study guide" that we can review.

He will finish Sonlight Core 100 (old core 7) 1/2 year behind when he *should* have, but since we are the ones who decide when he *should* finish something, we aren't worried.

We have never been "teach to the test" or "Hurry and get it done!" homeschoolers, so again, I'm not worried.

On the other hand, Alex and Ethan are doing great with Sonlight 6A. I added "The Wanderings of Odysseus" (finished yesterday) and "Black Ships Before Troy: The Story of the Iliad" (starting today.) They really liked "wanderings," so I am pretty sure they will like "black ships."

KRISTA!! Hi! I have a different ISP, and I can now get your blog to load. What fun. I am so thrilled, and glad you're still blogging. :-) Hope you are having a great December, and must admit that when I read about the pantry, I was hoping you'd post before/after pics (hint, hint).

Geez, though, I thought the picture of Shelby was Sydney - but no, it's just been that long. They grow fast, don't they?

OK, enough rambling. Just wanted to say howdy. :-)
